Volunteering at Marion Polk Food Share is a great way to complete court-mandated community service while helping support our neighbors in need. The Food Share hosts volunteer shifts Monday through Friday. Each shift lasts three hours and prior sign-up is required.

Things to Know:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to bring any paperwork or documentation?

Paperwork and documentation related to your community service is helpful for the Volunteer Team to review. Different courts and agencies have different requirements. Please bring any paperwork and documentation when you attend your first shift so that the Volunteer Team is aware of the specific requirements of your program.

What will I be doing while completing my court mandated community service?

Volunteers completing their community service will join us at our main facility where we repack and sort food that is distributed to our network of food pantries.

How much can I volunteer per day/week?

Currently, we offer one 3-hour shift per week to volunteers. We can place you on a substitute call list which is used to fill shifts when other scheduled volunteers are unable to attend.

What do I do when I am finished with my community service?

When you are nearing the end of your hours requirement, please notify the Volunteer Team. We require 5 business days advance notice to prepare any documentation you will need.

Can I continue volunteering after I am done with my hours?

Yes! Just let the Volunteer Team know that you would like to keep your scheduled shift.

Thank you for choosing to complete your volunteer service with Marion Polk Food Share!
