What information do we collect?

When you make a donation, sign up to volunteer or organize a food drive, the Food Share may ask you for the following information: name, address, email address, telephone number and other relevant information (e.g. hours available to volunteer).

When you visit Marion Polk Food Share’s website, we collect some non-identifying basic information. This includes total number of visitors, page views, type of browser you are using, type of operating system you are using, domain name of your internet service provider and frequently used search words.

Marion Polk Food Share uses personally identifiable information you provide about yourself: a) to respond to your questions or comments about our services; b) to fulfill requests to volunteer or conduct a food drive; c) to process your donation, verify your credit card and send you a tax-deductible receipt, to thank you; and to send you additional information about programs, services and needs that we believe will interest you.

Marion Polk Food Share does not rent or exchange names or other personal information about our donors, website users or subscribers to third parties. Occasionally, Marion Polk Food Share confidentially shares limited donor information with a third party so that it may utilize a service to find like-minded donors.

Marion Polk Food Share’s online processing system allows you to make safe donations. We use state-of-the-art firewalls and the latest encryption technology to ensure that no one can read your information as it travels to our donation system.

Marion Polk Food Share requires employees, agents and contractors who have access to personal information to protect information consistent with this Privacy Policy.
