The Impact of Home Delivery and Mobile Pantry Programs
Because of you, Marion Polk Food Share’s Mobile Pantry and Home Delivery Program is providing vital food assistance to individuals and families in our community who might otherwise go without.
The Home Delivery Program ensures fresh, nutritious food for neighbors who can’t access assistance at their local pantry. Though the program prioritizes those who are homebound, there are many reasons why someone would need these services, such as single parents whose work hours conflict with their local pantry’s distribution times. In December 2024 alone, our Home Delivery Program, which typically handles 90 new requests weekly, went above and beyond by distributing 374 food boxes to our neighbors in need.
The Home Delivery Program works in tandem with the Food Share’s Mobile Pantry Program to address service gaps in our two-county area. The program brings a Mobile Pantry to areas of our community that do not have a local food pantry, providing important assistance to rural communities and underserved areas.
Throughout December, the Mobile Pantry Program alone served 178 families. One mother, shared that without food assistance her finances were getting tight. Another client, who recently attended for the first time, shared that he used to contribute to his local food bank, but due to recent medical debts he and his wife have found themselves in need of generosity instead of extending it.
Thank you for your generous support, which ensures that neighbors across our community have reliable access to nutritious food.
Marion Polk Food Share would like to thank Willamette Health Council and community members like you for making the Mobile Pantry and Home Delivery Program possible.
