Answer: Nearly 40% of our food ends up in landfills!

When you think of all the people in our community who can’t get enough to eat, it’s outrageous that nearly 40% of food produced in the U.S. still ends up in landfills.

That’s almost 400 pounds of food per person every year! And it isn’t just those weird-looking potatoes- although those are perfectly nutritious. It’s often simply food that is in packaging out of season. Or fresh produce with a short shelf life that can’t be distributed fast enough.

Thanks to people like you, we’re rescuing perfectly good food and getting onto the tables of local families who need it. If you would like to help again now, donate below.
